Figure Drawing - beginning to intermediate
Monday Evenings, 4 sessions,Learn basic and advanced drawing skills, learn anatomy, form, foreshortening, light and shadow. experiment with different mediums such as pen and ink, brush, charcoal and pencil. We will explore different techniques and styles such as drawing from only negative space, continual line drawings, gesture drawings, and traditional value drawings. The teacher will instruct the class as a group as well as work with students individually.

Oil painting- beginning to intermediate Create expressive and compelling still life oil painting. Develop advanced skills in color, light, form, brush strokes, texture and composition. The teacher will instruct students as a group and will also work with students individually to help develop their own language and unique skills in oils. Demonstrations will be given. Group critiques will be offered at the end of class. There will be opportunities to show class work in the gallery as your skills advance.
Instructor: Katie Levesque
Katie is a classically trained oil painter from Connecticut. She recieved her bachelors degree from Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and her Masters of Fine Arts in Painting from Syracuse University. She has college level teaching experience and advanced skills in oils, acrylic,and watercolors as well as sculpture. Katie Levesques work has been featured many gallery in Connecticut and new York including the Point of Contact Gallery, Syracuse,NY, Art Helix in Brooklyn,NY, as well as juried shows including the Chauncey Stillman Gallery.

This watercolor class focuses on enhancing basic skills and techniques. This class is designed for new students who have not painted with watercolors and are curious about the medium and the process. Students will become familiar with watercolor paint techniques , color mixing, and basic brush works. Indivual instruction will be given to all students as well as group demonstions, in a relaxed environment. Students will create simple still life and landscape paintings. Subject matter will include flowers, plants, natural forms, still lifes

Children's Painting Class- Sea animal series ages 8-12
Saturday series 4 sessionsCreate colorful expressive paintings of sea animals including whales, sharks, coral reefs and jellyfish. Learn basic acrylic skills, color, light, form and paint application while creating your own underwater world. The instructor will do demonstrations for the class as well as work individually with students. Each student will take home a series of paintings at the end of this 4 week class. Price includes all supplies
We will display the students artwork at a special 1 night gallery event in the summer!
"Design Your Own Window" Acrylic Resin
May 21st, 5:30- 8 pm. Create your private window .. glass and resin, sand, shells with our own Kathy Testa. . Kathy, a local glass and acrylic artist/instructor, will be giving a workshop in the art of creating a personalized acrylic masterpiece. This class allows students the freedom to create just about anything. Each student will design their own window, adding glass such as wine and beer bottle shards, jewelry, wire, beads, tiles, (unlimited possibilities) capping with resin. You can create beautiful one-of-a-kind art that is dimensional. Students are encouraged to bring baubles from home to enhance their project. Each student will create either a 8 x 10 frame for $75. All materials are supplied.
